The Afghan Hound Club of Austin is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and protection of purebred Afghan Hounds. The Club's objectives are;

 

• To preserve and protect pure bred Afghan Hounds and to do all that is possible to bring their natural qualities to perfection.
  
  
• To protect and advance the interests of the breed by encouraging sportsmanlike conduct and competition at dog shows, lure coursing and other canine events.
  
  
• To conduct sanctioned matches, dog shows, obedience trials, agility trials, lure trials and any other event for which the club is eligible under the rules and regulations of The American Kennel Club and any other licensed canine organization.
